Some Whistling Credits

Recent Featured Whistling Project

The animated series Victor and Valentino called on Eric to provide the whistle for El Silbón, the self-proclaimed "finest whistler in all the land". His haunting melodies terrorize the village until (the also whistled by Eric) Victor, who needs much training, challenges him to a whistle-off culminating in a back and forth building to a suspenseful and surprising climax.

A little about Eric...

A little about Eric...

Eric Bradley grew up hearing about how his great uncle Elmer was a professional whistler. Clearly this had an influence on he and his family as everyone whistled in his home. It was incessant. Non-stop. Still is. Oh, and in the car too. But out of all of that emerged another professional whistler. And that's where we meet Eric. Music has always been a part of his life, from growing up playing trumpet and piano, to going on to becoming a professional singer, moving to Los Angeles, and working on hundreds of Films (like Star Wars: The Force Awakens/Rogue One/The Last Jedi, Captain Marvel, Dr. Strange, Toy Story 3 & 4, Avatar, La La Land, Pitch Perfect 2, Jersey Boys, Sing 1 & 2), TV Shows (WandaVision, The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Oscars, The Grammys, The Emmys), Commercials (Mountain Dew, Microsoft, Jack in the Box, Disney) and Albums and Live Performances (Dick Van Dyke, Neil Young, Barbra Streisand, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Adele, John Legend, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, and Andrea Bocelli). Most of the work he's done has been as a chameleon in groups and in a wide range of styles. But, ironically, it's in whistling that Eric has found his solo 'voice'. There's just something about it that he loves: a universal human quality that crosses all languages and cultures. It seems like everyone whistles. It's easy and fun. And that's what makes it relatable and therefore used in virtually every medium. There are many great whistlers all over the world. There are competitions for it. But there are few who approach it with the mentality of a studio musician: whistling accurately and in tune, being able to sight read music, being relaxed and flexible in front of a mic, improvising when needed, embellishing, knowing when not to embellish, being able to change the sound by adding different colors and more/less air, using straight tone vs. vibrato, how wide or how fast the vibrato, and just plain being professional and easy to work with. The list gets shorter and shorter with every quality added. With Eric you get all of that and more. If you've worked with him you already know this. If you haven't, he's so happy to meet you!

"For me, Eric is absolutely the first-call whistler in the movie business. His musicality and style are simply wonderful, and his sight-singing is second to none. He is also a great collaborator: a really easy person to work with in the studio and throw ideas around with. But perhaps most importantly in the world of visual media, Eric is also highly sympathetic to the dramatic needs of a film, cartoon, or TV show. When Mickey Mouse stops speaking and starts whistling, it is Eric who conveys Mickey's emotions to the audience: delight, apprehension, relief, and so on. He brings a voice actor's skill and a filmmaker's eye to this, making something very difficult look effortless."

Read About Eric's Studio

Eric uses the latest in digital microphone and preamp/interface modeling to achieve just the right sound when recording in his home studio. His new favorite gear is the UA Arrow Audio Interface and the Townsend Labs Sphere Microphone Modeling System. Together they can recreate classic preamps ranging from UA to Marshall and vintage microphones like Neumann, Telefunken, and AKG, even after the recording process is done! If geography or convenience are considerations and he's whistling remotely for your project you'll get as many sounds and versions as you'd like or simply let him choose what sounds best. Unless otherwise requested, tracks will be dry and unaffected and timed to match your track for easy importing. And if you're a Logic Pro X user he can even send you the entire session so you can tweak to your heart's content. You can even convert and import all of the tracks into other programs like Pro Tools. And with a range of video conferencing options available you can be right there in the studio with him. His demo above consists of work he's done in professional studios around Los Angeles and the clip below is a sample of what he's created in his home studio.
